How many guests can you hold?
We can hold 120 guests max for a seated event and up to 150 people for a mora informal occasion (buffet style)
Do you have to provide your own caterer?
,Different options are available with or without caterer. This is the beauty of our venue, you can personnalise it entirely. We would also have a list of recommended suppliers to assist with your plans.
Do you have a kitchen?
Yes, we have a state of the art function kitchen complete with 2 combo ovens, fryers, 6 ring hob and oven, 2 bain-maries and a full wash up area. The kitchen carries an usage fee.
Do we have to supply our own cutlery and crockery?
No we supply all of your linen, cutlery, crockery and glasses, tables and chairs.
Do you offer corkage?
Yes we do, wine is €12 per bottle and sparkling is €15 per bottle.
Do you provide beverages?
We have an extensive wine list for you to select your wine to accompany your meal. We also provide the drinks receptions – please see drinks reception section on the website for suggested packages for your guests, these will be priced per person.
What is included in the venue hire?
You can hire our venue for 2 or 3 nights (1 day hire will be considered depending on time of year). The venue hire includes Our beautiful Markree House and all event space also known as ‘The Carriage Rooms’ The courtyard bar, The saddle bar and lounge and the long room, Markree House is an impressive 5 bedroomed house that sleeps 12 guests.
Can you get married on site?
You are more than welcome to have your ceremony on site – we have beautiful gardens for an outdoor ceremony and should the weather not be on our side, we have the long room is perfect with all its original features, high beams and stone walls…just fabulous.
Do you cater for a day 2?
We can of course look after you post party, again a hire fee applies, and your choice of caterers to provide food for your guests.
How many courtyard bedrooms do you have?
We have 10 courtyard bedrooms, 6 double, 1 twin, 2 triples and 1 family room sleeping 4 guests.
Is breakfast included in the rate?
Yes, we offer a complimentary continental breakfast offering a selection of cold meats and smoked salmon, cheeses, fresh fruits, yoghurts, juices, cereals, breads, pancakes, waffles, freshly basked pastries and boiled eggs.
Do you have dining facilities on site?
We unfortunately don’t have any dining facilities on site other than breakfast. The local village of Collooney offer a selection of take away options and sligo town (12 minutes drive) have some amazing restaurants to choose from.
What is included in the bedrooms?
We have hairdryers, refrigerators, chilled water and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom amenities included are Voya.
How far are you from Markree Castle?
We are literally next door neighbours to the beautiful castle, a 3 minute walk down the avenue.
Do you have any baths in your rooms?
Unfortunately not, all of our rooms have showers.
Do you have accessible bedrooms?
We have one accessible room which is a twin bed (2 singles).
What is the latest we can check in?
Our check in time is strictly 3pm – 6pm, we are not a hotel property and therefore do not have a reception area that is manned 24hours. Should you need to organise a late check in please contact us directly, however a late check in fee may apply should we need to organise a member of the team to be there out of normal working hours.
What time is Breakfast served?
Breakfast is served from 8am – 10am.
What is Check out time?
Check out is 11am latest, you can add on a late check out when you are booking your room, a late check out fee applies. If you have already booked your room, please contact us directly to see if it is possible. – Late check outs are subject to availability.
